Lead Retail Associate (Full-Time)

We are hiring for a full time Lead Associate role at The Yo Store.

This position is 4-5 days (approx. 30 - 40 hours) a week and will include weekend and holiday availability. Working days will be Wednesday - Sunday or Thursday - Sunday, to be discussed at interview. Working days and times may vary during busy seasons.

You will be working in tandem with the store manager to represent The Yo Store through sales, attitude and knowledge. This is a customer facing retail role and will include, but is not limited to:

- building strong relationships with our customers

- strong brand knowledge

- familiarity with Shopify Point of Sale

- the ability and desire to embrace a sales focused role

- enthusiastic about community based events

You must:

- have at least one year of retail experience

- weekend and holiday availability 

- be able to work consistent shifts during the holiday season from mid-November to December 24 as well as the week following Christmas. Time off during these time periods is not impossible, but is considered only if sufficient shift coverage can be arranged.

- have excellent retail and relational skills

- have the ability to carry up to 50 lbs and stand for longer periods of time if necessary

- work well within a team and alone

- has a good understanding of small businesses and is able to adapt when needed.

- the ability to master multiple systems with many layers related to our point of sale system, inventory tracking, pulling goods for online orders, customer communication, etc.

Social Media Manager (Part-Time)

We are hiring for a part time social media manager. We are looking for a talented, eager person to manage our social media accounts - mainly Instagram and TikTok. You must have proven experience in social media management and hands on experience in a content creation role.

This role would suit someone who has other commitments but able to work one day a week in-store alongside the team. You will be required to work in the office one day a week.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating original video and static image content in tandem with the store manager. Includes reels for Instagram and videos for TikTok.

  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news) 

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure brand consistency 

  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences. Up to date on all current trends on social media platforms

  • Building and maintaining a strategy that aligns with business goals across all social media platforms.

  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions 

  • Creating copy for all posts. A strong knowledge of SEO and keywords is a bonus.

  • You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively.

  • Managing and responding to all comments. Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews 

  • Set specific objectives and report on ROI 

  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics 

Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.
